Living in Türkiye or moving there
“I can order a coffee, but landlords, doctors and paperwork still need a translator.”
Handle daily life on your own: rent, appointments, the doctor, neighbours, with phrases you practise in lessons first.
Native Turkish tutor · A1 to C1
Private 1-on-1 Turkish lessons for life in Türkiye, family, studies and business, with explanations in Arabic or Swedish if you prefer.
Is this you?
Different goals need different lessons. Here's how I help each kind of student.
“I can order a coffee, but landlords, doctors and paperwork still need a translator.”
Handle daily life on your own: rent, appointments, the doctor, neighbours, with phrases you practise in lessons first.
“I watch Turkish series every day, but grammar explained in Turkish or English just confuses me.”
Turkish explained clearly in Arabic, using the many words the two languages share, and real dialogues from series you love.
“Family dinners are lovely, but I just sit there smiling and understanding nothing.”
Join the conversation with your partner, in-laws and friends in warm, natural Turkish.
“My university needs a Turkish certificate and lectures will be in Turkish.”
Structured preparation for TÖMER, Yunus Emre TYS or e-YDTS, plus academic Turkish for lectures, essays and presentations.
“I understand my parents, but I answer in another language and my Turkish feels broken.”
Turn your “kitchen Turkish” into confident, correct Turkish for speaking, reading and writing.
“Deals happen over tea, in Turkish, and I always need someone to translate.”
Learn from a working interpreter: meetings, negotiations, emails and the business etiquette that builds trust.
Typical milestones for a beginner. If you already speak some Turkish, we start from your level.
Introduce yourself, talk about your day, shop, order food and ask for directions without panic.
Hold simple everyday conversations, write messages and follow slow Turkish with subtitles.
Talk about work, family and plans, understand much more of series and social media, and handle appointments on your own.
Speak comfortably on most everyday topics and be ready for TÖMER/TYS preparation at B1–B2 level.
Typical progress with 2 lessons a week and about 15 minutes of daily practice. Everyone learns at their own pace; your plan is adjusted at every progress check.
“I took private lessons with Georgia and I'm very happy. I recommend her to everyone, absolutely everyone. A very successful teacher in her field 👍”
“I've been taking lessons with Georgia for about a year, and my English has improved enormously. Thank you for all the care and attention you give to every lesson.”
Turkish builds words like LEGO: one root, many suffixes. Once you see the system, everything gets easier, and I show it to you in your language.
Every lesson includes real conversation. You practise the situations you actually face, not random textbook dialogues.
Clips from series, social media, menus, forms and messages. You learn the Turkish people really use.
A clear path from A1 to C1, so you always know what you've mastered and what comes next.
We talk about your week in the language you're learning, and I note your mistakes for later.
One grammar point or skill, explained in your language when needed, with clear examples.
You use it straight away: real-life situations, business scenarios or exam tasks.
Corrections, pronunciation tips and homework. Your lesson notes arrive after the lesson.
Every lesson is 50 minutes plus a 10-minute buffer, so we never rush and there's always time for your questions.

It depends on your starting point, your goal and how often you practise. With two private lessons a week and a little daily practice, many beginners can handle everyday situations after a few months. Reaching an independent level (B1–B2) for work or university usually takes longer.
Private lessons are faster than group courses because every minute is spent on your mistakes, your goals and your pace. Your trial lesson gives you a personal estimate.
Arabic speakers have a real head start: Turkish contains many words of Arabic origin, from kitap to merhaba. The main challenges are the word order, where the verb comes at the end, and the suffix system. Explained in Arabic, both become much easier to understand.
That's why I explain Turkish grammar in Arabic when you need it, and switch to Turkish as your confidence grows.
Many universities in Türkiye ask international students for a Turkish proficiency certificate, such as a university TÖMER certificate or the Yunus Emre Institute's TYS exam. ÖSYM also offers the computer-based e-YDTS. The required level differs by university and programme, often B2 or C1 for Turkish-taught degrees.
Exam preparation covers all four skills, reading, listening, writing and speaking, with timed practice in the real exam format. Always check the exact requirement with your university.
Yes. Turkish is my native language. As a professional interpreter, I also know exactly how Turkish compares with Arabic, English and Swedish, so I can explain it clearly in your language.
Yes. I can explain in Arabic, English or Swedish, whichever you understand best. As you progress, we use more and more Turkish in the lessons.
Absolutely. We start with pronunciation, the alphabet and the phrases you'll use immediately, then build up step by step.
Yes. I prepare students for Turkish proficiency exams such as TÖMER certificates, Yunus Emre TYS and e-YDTS, with practice in all four skills.
Yes, and it's a great way to learn. We use short clips to train your listening and learn natural everyday expressions.
A single 50-minute lesson is ₺1,050 and the trial lesson is ₺400. In the 30-, 60- and 90-lesson programs each lesson costs less, and progress checks and lesson notes are included.
