IELTS at a glance

Four parts, one band score from 0 to 9. Here's what each part really tests.

  • Listening

    About 30 min · 40 questions

Four recordings: conversations and talks. The key skill is catching details while you read ahead.

  • Reading

    60 min · 40 questions

Three long texts (Academic) or everyday and work texts (General Training). The key skills are speed and skimming.

  • Writing

    60 min · 2 tasks

Task 1: describe a chart or process (Academic) or write a letter (General). Task 2: an essay, worth twice as much as Task 1.

  • Speaking

    11–14 min · 3 parts

A conversation with an examiner: short questions, a 2-minute talk and a deeper discussion.

What band do you need?

Who it's for

IELTS preparation for your goal

Academic or General Training, first attempt or retake: we plan backwards from your exam date.

Study abroad (Academic)

“My university wants 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0, and my writing is stuck at 5.5.”

Task 1 and Task 2 structures, the vocabulary examiners reward and weekly marked essays until your writing reaches the target.

Visa, migration & work (General)

“I need IELTS for my visa or professional registration and I don't know where to start.”

General Training strategies, letter writing and a clear week-by-week plan to the score you need.

Retaking IELTS

“I've taken IELTS before and got the same band again.”

We find exactly why you're stuck, often Writing Task 2 or speaking fluency, and fix it with targeted practice.

Your road to test day

A typical 8-week plan. We adapt the pace to your exam date.

  1. Lesson 1

Diagnostic test, band estimate for each skill and a week-by-week plan.

  2. Weeks 1–4

Strategies for every section and the vocabulary for common Task 2 topics.

  3. Weeks 5–8

Weekly marked essays and speaking mocks with band estimates.

  4. Exam week

A final full mock, timing plan and a calm, confident test day.

Typical progress with 2 lessons a week and about 15 minutes of daily practice. Everyone learns at their own pace; your plan is adjusted at every progress check.

The 5 IELTS mistakes I fix most often

  1. 1

    Memorised phrases in Writing

Examiners recognise them and they don't raise your band. Clear, natural sentences do.

  2. 2

Not answering the whole Task 2 question

Task Response is a quarter of your writing score. We plan every essay around the question.

  3. 3

    Very short answers in Speaking

Extend every answer with a reason or an example to show fluency and range.

  4. 4

Spending too long on one Reading question

You have about 90 seconds per question. We train a timing system you can trust.

  5. 5

    Spelling mistakes in Listening

A correct answer spelled wrong is a wrong answer. We train accuracy with real recordings.

How IELTS preparation works

  • Diagnostic first

We measure each skill, so no time is wasted on what you can already do.

  • Marked writing

Every essay marked against the four official criteria, with corrections and a model answer.

  • Speaking mocks

Realistic speaking tests with timing, follow-up questions and a band estimate.

  • Band tracking

Regular mocks show your progress and tell us exactly what to practise next.

What happens in a 50-minute lesson
0′50′60′
  • Warm-up conversation 10 min

We talk about your week in the language you're learning, and I note your mistakes for later.

  • New structure, clearly explained 15 min

One grammar point or skill, explained in your language when needed, with clear examples.

  • Guided practice & role-play 15 min

You use it straight away: real-life situations, business scenarios or exam tasks.

  • Feedback & next steps 10 min

Corrections, pronunciation tips and homework. Your lesson notes arrive after the lesson.

Every lesson is 50 minutes plus a 10-minute buffer, so we never rush and there's always time for your questions.

IELTS preparation: a short guide

Academic or General Training?

Choose IELTS Academic for university study and many professional registrations. Choose General Training for work, training and many migration routes. Listening and Speaking are the same in both; Reading and Writing are different. Always check which version your institution or visa route requires.

How long does it take to go up one band?

It depends on your starting point and how much you practise. Moving from 6.0 to 6.5 can take a few weeks of focused writing and speaking work; bigger jumps usually take a few months. Your diagnostic gives you a realistic plan, and a retake costs more than good preparation.

How is IELTS Writing marked?

Each task is marked on four criteria of equal weight: Task Achievement or Response, Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource, and Grammatical Range and Accuracy. Task 2 counts twice as much as Task 1, so it's usually where the fastest gains are.

Frequently asked questions

Do you mark IELTS essays?

Yes. Every essay is marked against the four official criteria, with corrections, an estimated band and a model answer.

Can you explain IELTS strategies in Turkish or Arabic?

Yes. Explanations can be in Turkish, Arabic, Swedish or English, and we practise in English.

Do you guarantee a band score?

No honest teacher can guarantee a score, because exam day is yours. What I guarantee is a clear plan, real exam practice and detailed feedback that shows you how to improve.

How many lessons do I need?

It depends on your current level, your target band and your exam date. After the diagnostic in the trial lesson, I'll give you an honest estimate.

How much does IELTS preparation cost?

A single 50-minute exam lesson is ₺1,600 and the trial lesson is ₺400. In the 30-, 60- and 90-lesson programs each lesson costs less, and timed mock tests with band estimates are included.
